Hi guys, my name is Claire Barrett and I am a senior in high school from Huntersville, North Carolina.

This year I'll be joining the Wold Race Gap year program. Growing up I always thought college was the next step I had to take. But the Lord has shown me that His plan is WAY better than mine. So here I am accepting His plan and stepping out in faith as I go on a 9 months missions trip.

I will be going to Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Eswatini, and South Africa. I will have a squad of people that I will serve and live with. In each country, we will have the opportunity to serve the communities, families, and churches.

I have spent many hours praying and asking the Lord if taking this gap year was a part of His plan for my life or I did I just really want to do this because it seemed like a cool experience. I prayed that the Lord would make it clear to me that this was His plan and not mine. I now have this peace about my decision that I believe God can only give. 

Can't wait to share this journey with all of you through my blog.
